Unique pairing, modeled after Steve Gadd’s personal HiHats. The HiHats feature a slightly undersized (13 15/16″), medium weight top cymbal and a medium-thin bottom cymbal. A crucial aspect of Steve’s playing style, the HiHats also have an exceptionally controlled foot feel, capable of producing a full range of dynamic sounds using just the foot. Ideal for any playing or recording situation.
Warm, full-bodied tone with clean stick sound. Fast, bright “chick” that cuts through.
Combines the power of a 14″ with the control of a 13″ HiHat pair. Reverse Mastersound “Hybrid hammering” on bottom cymbal. Increased surface area on contact points between cymbals result in a warmer “chick”.
Unlathed, but extensively hammered throughout the body and bell, the K Custom Dark Complex Ride features a proprietary satin finish that adds to its unique appearance. This Ride is dark and complex with good stick definition and just enough spread. The cymbal is medium-thin in weight.
Like the popular Special Dry HiHats and Crashes, this Ride is created with exclusive, radical hammering and lathing techniques. This unique cymbal maintains the dryness of the crash while offering a cutting stick sound. The 21″ size is ideal for jazz and modern electronic music.
Ultra-dry stick sound. Very little but dry undertones. Unlathed and unpolished top and bottom.
Recently introduced, the popular Session series is the culmination of several years work between Steve Gadd and the Zildjian Sound Lab to duplicate his classic and sought-after cymbal sound. 14″ HiHats and 18″ Ride were modeled directly after Steve’s personal cymbals with the 16″ and 18″ Crashes representing Steve’s favorite crash sounds.
Peter Erskine isn’t the only drummer who considers Ks the holy grail of Ride sounds. But he considers the Left Side Ride “the perfect combination of spread and precision – the cymbal I’ve been looking for all my life.”
A compliment to his Crash and a “best friend” to his Ride, the Left Side Ride has the familiar warmth and clarity of his other Ks but adds a new distinctive sound.
Redesigned by Terri Lyne Carrington for 2008, the 22″ K Custom High Definition Ride is thinner than the original model for greater “crashability” and feel while riding. It features the same spiral lathing on top but the bottom has been left unlathed to help retain the dryness and stick definition. Perfect for use in both electric and acoustic settings, this Ride has a great amount of body and tone while still sounding “dry” and controlled.
Designed with one of Japan’s top drummer’s Akira Jimbo. Unlathed, buffed center provides defined stick attack and strong bell. Outside lathed edge increases spread and crashability.
Excellent stick definition with dry, full-bodied stick sound. Dark, warm undertones with trashy crash qualities for accents.
Combines a warm, dry stick sound, with a lush, dark, dry, warm and full-bodied crash sound, ideal for accents. Provides both these sought-after qualities in a single, unlathed and extra-hammered but thin cymbal design. Ideal for electric and acoustic jazz.
