Possessed of the same deep, dark, warm, low-pitched tonal characteristics associated with K Zildjians. But featuring the distinctive fast, clean Mastersound “chick”.
Hammered groves in the bottom cymbal of these HiHat pairs rapidly vent trapped air for a fast, clean and clear “chick” sound.
Based on requests from players for a lighter weight version of our heralded K HiHats, these K Light HiHats have a medium thin top paired with a medium bottom to give them a dark and slightly delicate feel with a light blend of overtones. Good for most applications including rock, pop, country and jazz.
The 22″ K Zildjian Dark Medium Ride is designed to perform in rock and jazz settings with equal effectiveness. This cymbal features a large bell for excellent projection in rock settings, and special hammering and lathing to open up the cymbal for broad tonal complexities in jazz settings. Exclusive “Pin” lathing enhances the crashability and gives the cymbal a distinct appearance reminiscent of 1960’s era K Zildjians.
This 24″ beauty is designed to generate wide variations of sound. Thin in weight, it has a dark sound with plenty of overtones. The cymbal can be used as a straight ahead ride capable of handling light playing in a trio setting to a rock ride that cuts through loud, amplified settings. It features a smaller bell and exhibits a moderate degree of edge wobble. Drummers like Joey Castillo, Travis Barker and Ronnie Vanucci have already made it their main ride.
The K Light range now also features a 22″ K Light Ride to complement the existing 24″ model. The 22″ K Light Ride features the same “smoky” sound and excellent stick definition of the 24″ model but in a smaller, more controllable size. The Ride is perfect for rock, jazz, country or anything else you throw at them.
Combines the power of a 14″ with the control of a 13″ HiHat pair. Reverse Mastersound “Hybrid hammering” on bottom cymbal. Increased surface area on contact points between cymbals result in a warmer “chick”.
Unlathed, but extensively hammered throughout the body and bell, the K Custom Dark Complex Ride features a proprietary satin finish that adds to its unique appearance. This Ride is dark and complex with good stick definition and just enough spread. The cymbal is medium-thin in weight.
Deep and solid “chick” sound. Low-pitched. Fast Response.
Like the popular Special Dry HiHats and Crashes, this Ride is created with exclusive, radical hammering and lathing techniques. This unique cymbal maintains the dryness of the crash while offering a cutting stick sound. The 21″ size is ideal for jazz and modern electronic music.
Ultra-dry stick sound. Very little but dry undertones. Unlathed and unpolished top and bottom.
Recently introduced, the popular Session series is the culmination of several years work between Steve Gadd and the Zildjian Sound Lab to duplicate his classic and sought-after cymbal sound. 14″ HiHats and 18″ Ride were modeled directly after Steve’s personal cymbals with the 16″ and 18″ Crashes representing Steve’s favorite crash sounds.
Peter Erskine isn’t the only drummer who considers Ks the holy grail of Ride sounds. But he considers the Left Side Ride “the perfect combination of spread and precision – the cymbal I’ve been looking for all my life.”
A compliment to his Crash and a “best friend” to his Ride, the Left Side Ride has the familiar warmth and clarity of his other Ks but adds a new distinctive sound.
Redesigned by Terri Lyne Carrington for 2008, the 22″ K Custom High Definition Ride is thinner than the original model for greater “crashability” and feel while riding. It features the same spiral lathing on top but the bottom has been left unlathed to help retain the dryness and stick definition. Perfect for use in both electric and acoustic settings, this Ride has a great amount of body and tone while still sounding “dry” and controlled.
